She recently completed her Masters in the field of Nutrition with the University of Cape Town (February 2020).
Gabi offers individualized eating plans which are flexible and which take into account each individual's different requirements, likes and dislikes. Her goal is to help individuals to develop healthy eating patterns and behaviours that are sustainable, by creating a focus around choosing nutritious foods, being able to enjoy food without feelings of restriction or guilt, and emphasizing a lifestyle in which physical activity is a priority, with a focus on enjoyed forms of exercise. Gabi also places emphasis on the importance of consistent monitoring and feedback and uses the latest technology to monitor body composition (TANITA).
Gabi also has a great passion for the preventative aspect of dietetics. She places emphasis on preventing lifestyle diseases by channelling poor lifestyle behaviours in the youth. Based on this interest, Gabi's Masters dissertation investigated beliefs of first year South African female university students relating to weight gain prevention behaviours and weight related constructs.
Gabi completed a specialized training course (2017) in the FODMAP diet for IBS and is a part of a team of dieticians in South Africa (EatFit) with special interest in gastrointestinal health.
